By: Hadithaday

The Messenger (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “Grey hair is the light of a Muslim (on the Day of Resurrection). No Muslim turns grey in Islam but for every grey hair he will receive one reward and his status will be raised by one degree .”

Part 1 – Hijab in Christian Denominations!

The literal meaning of hijab is to veil, to cover or to screen.
It encompasses more than just a dress code; it is concerned with moral boundaries and respect for woman.

It is part of community cohesion and modest behavior. However, the term hijab has become interchangeable with the word scarf.

The meaning is sometimes extended to cultural dress standards such as the burqa of Afghanistan, the chador of Iran and the shalwar kamise of Pakistan.

Hijab has multiple meanings and in this series of articles we are going to focus on hijab as a head covering and discuss hijab in the Bible and the Torah.

What kind of God is that which cannot even defend itself?

Say: ‘Shall I tell you of a reward with Allah far worse than that: that of those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He is angry–turning some of them into monkeys and into pigs–and who worshiped false gods? Such people are in a worse situation and further from the right way.’ (Quran 5:60)

My journey to Islam is, it safe to say, not the usual one. Most white converts I have met came from a liberal and very open background. My upbringing was far from this. Both of my parents were in the US military and my upbringing was very strict. My father was very racist, and because of this, I was very racist myself until about the age of 24. I can remember as a child listening to my father lambast and attack Arabs and Muslims and bash the religion, their way of life, and their race. As this was the way I was raised this is the position I took as well. I had a very troubled childhood, as the above can only begin to describe.

Dear sisters, do you know that so much of the whole world actually “wears Hijab?!” YES! The earth is surrounded by the atmosphere and ozone layer. Fresh fruits have peels on them. The sword is preserved in a sheath. An ink pen would dry without a cap. We put paperback and hardback covers on our books. A pen would be thrown away because it became dry and useless without its cap. An apple without a peel becomes rotten. A banana without a peel would change colors. And a woman is a beautiful flower which every one wishes to pick so she should cover herself with the beautiful hiijab. Subhan’Allah, the world is wearing hijab, what about you?
