Ellington was a “non-practising Christian” until two major influences on his life reshaped his views three years ago. His brother Jason adopted the faith. And then Ellington met his future wife, Alma.
This British soccer player first learned about Islam in 2004. With two of the most important people in his life following Islam, Nathan then explored and accepted Islam for himself. Alhumdulillah. I first learned about Islam when I was researching my post Fast or Be Fast: Muslim Athletes During Ramadan. That had opened my heart to Islam.

BRUSSELS – A Belgian young Muslim revert to Islam has helped 1000 people to accepts Islam after turning her home into Islamic center for Belgian Muslims seeking to learn more about their religion.
Influenced by her Muslim friends and researching into the religion, Veronique Cools has accepted Islam at a very young age.
Later on, she decided to turn her own home into an Islamic center for Belgian Muslims seeking to learn more about their religion.
The new center works to help Belgians to overcome many prejudices when looking into Islam.
“Prejudices stem from not being introduced to real Islam properly,” she said as she was preparing iftar food packets for visiting Muslims to break their Ramadan fasts, World Bulletin reported.
“As Muslims we need to explain ourselves to society a lot better.”

My journey to Islam is, it safe to say, not the usual one. Most white converts I have met came from a liberal and very open background. My upbringing was far from this. Both of my parents were in the US military and my upbringing was very strict. My father was very racist, and because of this, I was very racist myself until about the age of 24. I can remember as a child listening to my father lambast and attack Arabs and Muslims and bash the religion, their way of life, and their race. As this was the way I was raised this is the position I took as well. I had a very troubled childhood, as the above can only begin to describe.

During the launch of Penny Appeal’s World Record attempt, to break the record for the longest TV charity appeal, we were raising funds for our Gaza Emergency Appeal. A Jewish Man, named Soloman, phoned in and made his Shahada (verbal testimony to become Muslim) live on air! He also donated his first salary of around £900 towards food and urgent medical aid, for Gaza. Later that evening Soloman went on to sell his car, for £2,000, which he has committed towards providing a much-needed medical room at the Hayfa Medical Centre in Gaza, Masha’Allah!
