Noor Inayat Khan led a very unusual life. She was born in 1914 to an Indian Sufi mystic of noble lineage and an American half-sister of Perry Baker, often credited with introducing yoga into America. As a child, she and her parents escaped the chaos of revolutionary Moscow in a carriage belonging to Tolstoy’s son. Raised in Paris in a mansion filled with her father’s students and devotees, Khan became a virtuoso of the harp and the veena, dressed in Western clothes, graduated from the Sorbonne and published a book of children’s tales — all before she was 25.

Eat. Sleep. Work. Is there more to life than this? We human beings have been thrown into existence without any choice, so questions such as Where did I come from? Is organ donation permitted in Islam?

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
Organ donation has been debated extensively in pre-modern and contemporary times. A number of Fiqh Academy’s across the globe such as the Islamic Fiqh Assembly of the Muslim World League in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, have concluded that organ donation is permissible to save a life. The organ can be donated from one that is alive or one that is deceased. There are a number of conditions attached to the permissibility of organ donation, such as the below mentioned:
· The process of organ donation must uphold the dignity and honour of the human body
· The donor should not be adversely affected in health and normal life by donating the organ
· The organ cannot be sold
· The donor must willingly give permission to donate the organ
· There must be a genuine need to save or restore life
