I could say that my journey to Islam began before I was even aware of it.

I was born with a progressive hearing loss. 

My mother did not realize that I had difficulties hearing until I was 4 years old. 

Once it was discovered, I received my first hearing aids, and began attending a school where hearing and deaf children were integrated.

At first I was placed in classes that contained only deaf children. Then I began to attend some classes with hearing children, and I had a teacher come to help me learn how to integrate. I felt at home there. I did not realize that I was being prepared to leave the school and go to a mainstream public school.

Janet Jackson on Palestine, Syria peace mission

Pop-music icon Janet Jackson was in Palestine on Sunday during a visit to Occupied Jerusalem with her Qatari billionaire husband Wissam al-Mana.

Jackson, also a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, posted pictures on her Twitter account of herself posing with “beautiful Palestinian students.”

She tweeted: “Peace. Yatta High School, West Bank with @UNICEF. Beautiful Palestinian students.”

HEBRON (Ma’an) — Israeli forces shot and seriously injured a Palestinian child during clashes near Hebron on Sunday, medics said.

Hazim al-Shalalda, the directer of al-Mizan hospital, told Ma’an that 11-year-old Moheyeddin Salah Idriss was shot in the chest with a live bullet during the clashes.

The boy is currently in a coma and undergoing a complex medical procedure, al-Shalalda said.

Moheyeddin was shot during clashes near Kiryat Arba settlement east of Hebron, where protesters threw rocks and Israeli soldiers fired live bullets and tear gas at Palestinians.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said she was looking into the incident.

Deadly quake rattles southwest China

Earthquake kills at least 175 and injures more than 1,400 others in Yunnan province.

An earthquake has struck southwestern China, killing at least 175 people in a remote mountainous area of Yunnan province, and causing some buildings, including a school, to collapse.

Some 1,400 people were injured and 181 missing, Xinhua and state broadcaster CCTV said, citing the authorities.

info-pictogram1 Born into a Buddhist family, Hussain Yee embraced Islam at the age of 18. He pursued studies at the University ofMadinah in Saudi Arabia majoring in HadithSheik of Hadeeth/شيخ الحديث. After graduating in 1978, he joined the organization called ‘Perkim’, in Malaysia, which focuses on the well being of the new converts. Later he seconded as director of centre in Hong Kong. He then founded Al Khaadem with a group of volunteers in 1984.

He also studied four years under Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani, and has also had contact with the former Grand Mufti of Saudi-Arabia Ibn Baaz while studying at the University of Madinah. After studying in Saudi Arabia, Hussain Yee became involved in various organizations and now gives talks in the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe., which includes conducting summer camps by the invitation of local and international organizations. Furthermore, Hussain regularly appears on Peace TV whereby he gives many lectures. He is friends with Ali Rahim and Zakir Naik.
