Given the choice, I would rather read a book than listen to a lecture. Books are wonderful companions: they offer their opinions, and if you disagree, they don’t seem to mind. I can reread when I find difficulty with what is written, and the book doesn’t think I’m stupid or get annoyed that I’m asking it to repeat itself, sometimes again and again. From a great author, I can acquire in a few hours what took him or her a lifetime of reflection and insight to realize. Despite that, on occasion, I have heard lectures that have moved me deeply. Recently, someone sent me a lecture insisting that I watch it. It was by an American convert to Islam (I don’t like the word “revert,” as we don’t revert to Islam; we convert – unless one was a Muslim, left it, and then returned), Dr. Jeffrey Lang, about the purpose of life. I found this lecture to be the most powerful I have ever heard from an American Muslim.

Documentary: Max Igan – The Calling (Video)

info-pictogram1 The aim was to condense all 3 films into a one hour solution based production that would appeal to a wider audience and be suitable for television. This film is the result.

Along with some new material this film contains 2 complete chapters of “The Big Picture – Final Cut” that remain virtually unchanged. This has not been done to ‘recycle’ old material but simply because the information contained within these chapters was relevant and needed to be included. Should some people you know still remain blind to the urgency of the world situation and to their need to be informed and to act upon such information, it is my sincere hope that this film may help you to open their eyes.

Documentary: The Zionist War on Islam & The Next False Flag In London (Video)

info-pictogram1 All this time, the western powers have supposedly been fighting a war against terrorism, but this is far from the Truth. In reality, this global war is an effort to wage a war on all levels, on Islam and Muslims.

A new year brings resolutions, and for the establishment, their resolutions are quite clear: more of the same! More false flags, more mediacircus and staged news, ad infinitum, ad nauseam.

Last week, we all awoke to news the Onion-like French satire publication Charlie Hebdo had been attacked by terrorists, with Al Qaeda taking responsibility for the murder of several media figures. While it is tempting to get bogged down in “fluid” situation details, we must always recall similar patterns of such events in the recent past which will serve to inform the greater context of this new event in the never-ending “war on terror”.

Only Wannabe Christian Muslims want to celebrate Christmas (Video)

info-pictogram1 An increasing number of Muslims want to celebrate Christmas as each year passes. As Sheikh Mumtaz ul Haq explains, these Muslims are more worried about pleasing the media and the Western society than they are with abiding to Islam. He calls these people “Supposed Muslims”, because they claim to be Muslims, yet have no respect for Allah, no respect for the Prophet Muhammad, and no respect for Islam.

5 THINGS THE MEDIA WON’T TELL YOU ABOUT EAST JERUSALEM

Palestinians in East Jerusalem live their daily lives under the brutality of Israeli occupation. However, their suffering is ignored by most of the western media. Palestinians in East Jerusalem face expulsion from the city, home demolitions, freedom of movement restrictions, surveillance, and violence from settlers and soldiers. This is in addition to illegal settlement building on their land.

It is through measures such as these – all violations of international law – that Israel is attempting to ethnically cleanse East Jerusalem of its Palestinian population. Israel’s stated goal is to establish and maintain the whole of Jerusalem as its capital.

Manama: An article in the Kuwaiti press highlighting Muslim women who have risen to high government positions in Europe has stirred a debate in the country’s blogosphere…

Kuwaitis expressed mixed feelings over the report. Some social network users reacted by paying tribute to the women, their success stories and the positive attitudes of their host countries while others said that they were promoted politically and socially only after they adopted Western values and ways of life.

Isis jihadis aren’t medieval – they are shaped by modern western philosophy

We should look to revolutionary France if we want to understand the source of Islamic State’s ideology and violence

Painting of French revolutionary Maximilien Robespierre (1758-1794) during the French revolution.

Over recent weeks there has been a constant background noise suggesting that Islamic State (Isis) and its ideology are some sort of throwback to a distant past. It is often framed in language such as that used last week by the deputy prime minister, Nick Clegg, who said Isis was “medieval”. In fact, the terrorist group’s thinking is very much in a more modern, western tradition.

5 REASONS TO PRAISE THE WEST

Do not adjust your screen or your glasses – you read it right. This article is by a Muslim praising the West. Much like the title image of a smiling Shakeel Ahmed Butt (referred to online as “Muslim Rage Boy”), I’m trying to show that we can break the stereotype.

One of the more pernicious symptoms of depression is losing the ability to recognise good in others. The gloom that is cast over the Muslim world at the present time demonstrates this perfectly. We are sore at “the West” and blame them (with some justification) for many of the ills that plague us.
