Islam takes great interest in knowledge.

It commands people to meditate upon the phenomena of the universe in which we live and contemplate over the creation of God in order to discover the mysteries of nature and the universe.

Islam also urges us to travel about in the earth to explore its secrets. There are many verses in the Quran that instruct the Muslims to meditate and observe the universe since observation is the first step of the scientific method.

What is beauty?

Anyone with the vaguest knowledge of Islamic culture knows that it has produced extraordinary works of art and architecture — Persian miniatures, the Taj Mahal, the Alhambra. Few are aware, however, that this rich artistic heritage is firmly rooted in a worldview that highlights love and beauty.

The link between love and beauty is clear. We love what we find beautiful. Beauty attracts, ugliness repels. Nor are beauty and ugliness simply physical characteristics. We all know people who are outwardly attractive but personally repellent, and vice versa.

Beauty makes a massive appearance in love poetry like that of Ibn al-Farid, Rumi, Yunus Emre, and countless others. Their verses stir up wonder and delight by evoking the beautiful characteristics of the beloved.

Scientific Facts in the Qur’an – SKY’S PROTECTION (Video)

info-pictogram1 The Qur’an is not a book of science but a book of signs, yet it contains some undeniable facts related to science.

Islam strongly urges mankind to study and explore the universe and the world around us.

Allah has not forbidden mankind to question. Allah tells us throughout the Qur’an to contemplate and investigate the heavens and the earth.

Allah says:

“Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding.”

“Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], “Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”
(Qur’an 3:190-191)

Knowing Your Enemy

jewchristian

Source: islamicthinkers.com

The Muslim is required to be aware, and learn about the plots and tricks of his enemy. Allah (subhaanahu wa-ta’aalaa) says in the Qur’aan:

إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَاتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا إِنَّمَا يَدْعُو حِزْبَهُ لِيَكُونُوا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ

Surely, Shaytaan [Satan] is an enemy to you, so treat him as an enemy. He only invites his hizb [followers] that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire. (EMQ Faatir, 35:6) This verse clearly informs us of who our enemy is: Shaytaan (the devil). Allah (SWT) strictly orders us to treat our enemy as our enemy – not as a friend or ally. Consequently, it is not allowed for a believer to have any sympathy, love, affection, compassion or respect for his enemy. Allah (SWT) says:

O you who believe! Take not my enemies [the disbelievers] and your enemies as awliyaa’ [friends, allies, supporters, assistants etc.], showing affection towards them… (EMQ al-Mumtahanah, 60:1)

I admit it. I procrastinated for a very long of time to write this article and I know, a few people might just open this page in another browser/tab and leave it for days/weeks to read.

“Uff, there is so less time and I have so much to do, there’s no time to read this topic. Let me keep it for later. I am not a bad person. Let’s read it when I am in “realization” mode”.

Crying washes heart’s maladies

Source: islamweb.net

It is a fact which no one can debate that crying washes out the maladies of the heart. Crying out of fear from Allaah softens the heart and cleans it from its filth. Yazeed Ibn Maysarah may Allaah have mercy upon him said: “Crying happens due to one of seven things, joy, sadness, terror, to show off, pain, gratitude and out of fear from Allaah one tear from which extinguishes as huge as oceans size of fire”
