IS WIKIPEDIA RELIABLE? ART OF CONNECTION WITH BELAL KHAN

Some people feel that Wikipedia isn’t trustworthy because it’s a platform on which you can go in and change information.

That’s true, but only to a degree.

The reality is that if you change information on Wikipedia and you don’t have any kind of history or you’re new to the game, understand that majority of these pages have gatekeepers.

These are people who are dedicated to the page and the content that’s on the page so if you make any changes they’ll be alerted of it and revert back the changes and flag you if you didn’t follow any one of the guidelines.

The real issue with Wikipedia is that it’s a reference index.

The 10th of Muharram marks the day Musa (peace be upon him) and the Children of Israel were saved from Pharaoh and his army. Historically, Jews would keep a fast to mark this occasion and Muslims have continued this tradition by keeping an optional fast on this day as well as an additional fast a day before or a day after. This simile is found in the modern culture and is likened to actors, athletes, and the like. In the Islamic tradition, the stars are associated with the legends of Islamic history. We need to redefine this simile to the true luminaries and legends of human history: the people of God. By studying their examples of just leadership through times of extreme difficulty, we can implement their methodology of institution-building to construct a virtuous society in our present context. Just like the heavens have stars for terrestrial navigation, so do we have stars for guidance to paradise.

Assalamualaykum. I reverted to Islam on 4th June,2012. Alhamdulillah. I’m Vietnamese-Japanese

I was born in an atheist Family, which has been worshiping our ancestors. Well, Atheist also have some beliefs, but rather then belief I will call it more of a old tradition and culture. But I was never comfortable with it, as it made no sense to me. I never thought that i was getting blessed by doing it.
