Nasheeds or Songs

I want to clear the biggest and fattest misconception that the so-called “Islamic Nasheeds” with hip hop and whatever type of music going on in the back is “Halaal”. Music is Haraam, if your mind is saying “no no.. Since the song is talking about Allah and the Prophet(PBUH), therefore it makes it Halal.

Those who say that it is halaal, are truly fooling themselves. When music itself is Haraam, do you think Allah is cool with His name and His Prophet’s (PBUH) name being heard with violins and guitars. No, just because singers these days “think” that their songs are halaal due to the fact that they are singing about Islam and peace (mixed with beats) doesn’t make it less Haraam. We as Muslims can’t MOLD Islam into our lifestyles, we got to mold ourselves and our lifestyles into Islam. There are so many men who have Real Nasheeds (without music) like Ahmed Bukhatir, Sheikh Mishary Al Afasy and so on.

Muslims should stop calling them Nasheeds. They are not Nasheeds, they’re songs. Allah’s name needs no music nor does His Words need a guitar or a piano to make them sound good.
