Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire, made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Tuesday while commenting on the Pentagon’s decision to isolate and quarantine US soldiers returning from West Africa.

Two US states — New Jersey and New York — have already ordered a mandatory 21-day quarantine for medics who have treated Ebola patients in West Africa, where the epidemic has already killed about 5,000 people.

This past June marked the 45th anniversary of the Arab defeat of the 1967 war. War is normally measured by its final outcome, but many individual heroes faithfully gave up their lives for the Arab side, defending the honor of their nations. The actions of those men deserve to be highlighted and explained, especially the contributions of the Pakistani pilot Saiful Azam and the brave Jordanian soldiers of the battle of Ammunition Hill in Jerusalem.

The sources said resident Mahmoud Khalil Abu al-Hawa was shot by a rubber-coated metal bullet to the abdomen from a close range, while resident Ali Mahmoud Abu al-Hawa suffered a broken arm after several soldiers assaulted him.

Eyewitnesses said the soldiers also fired gas bombs and rounds of live ammunition, while a number of settlement guards also fired rounds of live ammunition into the air.

Clashes have also been reported in the Shu’fat refugee camp, and Ras al-‘Amoud neighborhood, in addition to a number of neighborhoods.

In related news, the Jerusalem office of the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said Israel decided to release 46 Jerusalemite Palestinians, among dozens kidnapped in the last two days, under the condition of limiting their movement, and having their families sign affidavits to guarantee their location, and appearance in court when needed.
