Like imaan and taqwa form as protective shields against sins and disobedience towards Allah, in similar manner our immune system protects us against diseases.

Narration About Fajr Prayer
The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said, “Whoever says at the end of every Fajr prayer, while his feet are still folded, before speaking:

‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allaah, Alone without partner, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him is the praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is powerful over all things.

Lā ilāha illallāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, yuḥyī wa yumītu, wa huwa alā kulli shay’in qadīr

ten times, then ten good deeds shall be written for him, ten evil deeds shall be wiped away from him, ten degrees shall be raised up for him, and he shall be in security all that day from every disliked thing—and he shall be in protection from Shaitaan—, and no sin will meet him or destroy him that day, except for associating partners with Allaah.”

English Dua

Dua eden eller 3

Source: islamqa.info & aithofmuslims.wordpress.com

It is permissible to make du’aa’ in Arabic and in languages other than Arabic. Allaah knows the intention of the supplicant and what he wants, no matter what language he speaks, because He hears all the voices in all different languages, asking for all kinds of needs.

Allah! I ask of You integrity and soundness in my religion, my life, my family, and my possessions.

O Allah! Cover my shame, pacify my fears, guard me from what is in front of me and behind me, from what is on my right and on my left, over my head and under my feet.

O Allah! Grant health to my body. O Allah grant health to my hearing. O Allah! Grant health to my sight. There is no deity except You.

Sickness A Mercy from Allah

Trials and tribulations in islam

Source: everymuslim.co.za

By: Professor Noor Ahmed Noor

Sickness can be very disturbing, but if viewed in the light of the teachings and the practical example of our Nabi(Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam), then it will become easier to cope with even the agony of pain. Furthermore, if these teachings are practised, our illnesses will become a means for us to earn great rewards in the Aakhirah.

This concise booklet is based on the Urdu book, Maraz bhi Allah ki rahmat he by Professor Noor Ahmad Noor of Pakistan. It provides a better understanding of sickness and explains how every Muslim should view sicknesses and disease in a positive light. It deals briefly with some aspects relating to sickness like glad tidings for the sick; virtues and etiquette for visiting the sick; some Masnoon duas for cure; the salaah of the sick; hope in Allah Ta’ala and ends with a few anecdotes about the last moments of some Awliyaa (Friends) of Allah.

May Allah Ta’ala accept this humble effort of Daaru- Nashril Islaamiyyah who has translated and compiled this booklet into English. Ameen.

5 Lessons we can learn from the Exodus

sea-split

Source: ilmfeed.com

By: Abu Safiyyah

The 10th of Muharram marks the day Musa (peace be upon him) and the Children of Israel were saved from Pharaoh and his army. Historically, Jews would keep a fast to mark this occasion and Muslims have continued this tradition by keeping an optional fast on this day as well as an additional fast a day before or a day after. The incident is mentioned in various places in the Qur’an and it is also mentioned in the Old Testament in the ‘Book of Exodus’.

The story of the splitting of the sea is well known but what lessons can we learn from this? Here are 5 lessons we can learn from Musa’s escape from Pharaoh.

When a test comes to you

after_life

By: Shaykh Tawfique Chowdhury

When a test comes to you:

1. Know that everything is by Qadr of Allah
2. Remember that other people have bigger problems than you
3. Remember the death of the Prophet (pbuh), the greatest calamity the Ummah faced
4. Maybe through this trial, Allah has saved you from an even bigger trial.
5. Through this trial Allah will remove some of your sins
6. Through this trial Allah has opened up a huge world of ibadah like sabr, salah, repentance etc
7. With this trial, Allah is putting you on the path of the Prophets. It is a confirmation that Allah loves you. The more Allah loves somebody, the more he tests them.”

Halal laughter and Muslim happiness

Source: muslimvillage.com

As a child, I used to laugh and run around. Joking and kidding each other were the norm, but the teachers of Islam whom I had come to know seemed sombre and didn’t think laughing was a grand idea.

Everything about the religion seemed serious, culling happiness at bay.

Many years later, I know for a fact that when new reverts come to Islam, many of them suddenly feel a paradigm shift in lifestyle that is not always positive. Although they find a lot of peace and serenity in this new religion, there is a persistent drone over how a Muslim should behave, without considering the questions “why”.

There’s the different dress-code, a constant need to be vigilant about their deeds. Some have to distant themselves from family and friends who are un-supportive.
