You never know what deed of yours may see you enter Jannah. Don’t be disheartened and think that you can never be a good Muslim. Ask yourself what small deed you can do today that will make you better than yesterday? It maybe something as small as saying the words “I seek Allah’s forgiveness” in the morning and evening. It maybe something as small as making a small change like listening to Quran on your drive to work rather than listening to Music or Radio. Just make the small change and keep making the small changes each day, each week, and then watch Allah turn your life around for you for the better.

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Whoever says, ‘Subhan Allahi wa bi hamdihi’ one hundred times, his sins will be forgiven even if they were like the foam of the sea.” [Sunan Ibn Majah]

“Subhan Allahi wa bi hamdihi” means that Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) is pure of defects and praise belongs to Him alone.

Australia: Christian and Jewish leaders rally in support of Muslims

Christian and Jewish leaders have rallied to support the Muslim community, asking members of the Australian public to join them in a campaign called “We’ll love Muslims 100 years”.

Rabbi Zalman Kastel will join Australian Christian Churches pastor, Brad Chilcott, Tim Costello and other denominational leaders in three events in New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia on Friday to declare their support for Australian Muslims.

What Causes Winds

Reported by Abu Hurairah (RA): I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: “The wind is a blessing of Allah. Sometimes it brings His mercy and sometimes it brings His chastisement. When you experience it, do not revile it but beg of Allah its good, and seek Allah’s refuge against its evil.”

 Wind is caused by differences in atmospheric pressure created, in large part, by the unequal heating of the earth’s surface by the sun. Air moves from a region of higher pressure to one of lower pressure and this movement is wind. Any difference in pressure will cause wind, but the greater the difference the stronger the wind.

The direction that wind takes is influenced by the rotation of the earth. On a nonrotating earth wind would move in a straight path from a high- to a low-pressure area. It is deflected from this path—to the right in the Northern Hemisphere and to the left in the Southern—by the turning of the earth on its axis.

Local winds—those that affect a comparatively small area—are often caused by heat transferred by convection. Direct radiation from the sun does little to heat the air. It is warmed chiefly by heat radiated from the earth. Intense local heating of the land causes air directly above to become greatly heated and to expand. As a result, some of the air aloft flows away, lowering the pressure over the heated area and increasing the pressure around it. The cooler, heavier air near the earth then flows to the heated area.

In mountainous areas, winds tend to blow uphill during the day because the mountainside is heated more than the valley below it. At night, when the mountainside cools, the wind blows downhill. In summer, breezes tend to blow from oceans or large lakes to the warmer land during the day. They blow from the land at night, when the land cools.

Surat Al Kahf has immense blessings

Abu Darda’ reported Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: If anyone learns by heart the first ten verses of the Surat Al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal. (Sahih muslim Book 004, Hadith 1766)

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reports that the Prophet SAW said: “Whoever recites Surat Al-Kahf on Jumu’ah (Friday) will have illumination from the light from one Jumu’ah to the next.” (an-Nasa’i, al-Baihaqi, and al-Hakim)
