The first Masjid of the Northeast Canadian Province of Nunavut has been completed

By the mercy of Almighty God, Allah, and the hard work of the Muslim brothers and sisters of the North, the groundbreaking and pillings for the first Masjid of the Northeast Canadian Province of Nunavut has been completed, al Hamdulillah. Official permission for the masjid has been obtained and the local elders and authorities have given their blessings. The site will be covered till the snow comes off in June but this foundation will enable us to build the Islamic Center of Iqaluit in the land of the Innuit people (wrongly called Eskimos) for the first time. May Allah empower the Innuit people through Islam and bring into them into the Ummah in crowds.

Parenting Cannot Be Delegated

I was a guest at one of my friend’s place. This was a very rich man and he had a young son. While we were sitting, his son offered me a glass of water. The father retaliated: “Can’t you even greet with Salams!” I could clearly see the man’s eyebrows frowning and the little kid shivering. The child mumbled ‘Assalamualaikum’ in a shivering voice . Later, I corrected my friend that he was wrong in insulting his son and he should read the biography of the Prophet  SAW on how he taught children, tolerated their mistakes and corrected them without getting angry.

Maldives to boycott Israeli products

Government has said today that three agreements between Maldives and the State of Israel have been dissolved and that discussions are ongoing to prohibit the import of Israeli products to Maldives.

Speaking at a press conference today, Minister at the President’s Office Mohamed Hussain Shareef said that Israeli goods consists of a small percentage of imports to the Maldives and that Maldives will reject investors from Israel in the future.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon said at the press conference today that three agreements signed with the Israeli government during former president Mohamed Nasheed’s Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) administration have now been dissolved.

She also noted the international condemnation of recent Israeli aggression in Gaza and the increase in calls for a boycott of Israeli products by a number of other countries.
