bism

Basmalah (reciting Bismillah) which means “In the name of Allah”, has been an easy target for critics of Islam and has constantly been bombarded with illogical allegations. There stands a great need to clear out the very genuine queries which many non-muslim have regarding bismillah and also the need to answer all the allegations against it in order to stitch the mouth of all those illogical boasters who try and allege the authenticity of Islam.

The Sunnah of Mental Focus

Blog-Post-to-start-the-day-slider1-578x420

Everybody has, at some point of time in their lives, woken up in a state of sluggishness, , , , or felt like a dark cloud has come over their heads.  Perhaps Shaitan visited you during your sleep in a dream or otherwise, perhaps you are ill or perhaps the ebb and flow of life has balanced the abundance of good feeling with some bad.  But we, as active healthy Muslims, must take our affairs into our own hands with the knowledge and strength that Allah  SWT has blessed us with.  Our bodies are a trust that Allah SWT  has bestowed us with, which we must take care of. We must also take our Prophet ﷺ (who was strong, powerful, capable, adaptive and elegant) as the guide whom Allah SWT  sent to remind us. The main difference is that Prophet ﷺ was taught directly by Allah SWT  through the angel AS  while we are blessed in a way that is indirect (through the Qur’an and his Sunnah which has been passed down through generations.)Let us start at the beginning of the day, as that is what generally makes us or breaks us.  ‘Ubaidullah bin Mihsan Al-Ansari  RAu reported:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whosoever begins the day feeling security and good health; and possessing provision for his day is as though he possessed the whole world.”  [At- Tirmidhi].

The matter of avoiding unnecessary disputation while upholding sounds standards of decency and conduct returns to the issue of enjoining the good and forbidding evil, which is a communal obligation (fard kifaya) and an essential duty in Islam. Based on the criteria outlined below, if the conditions of enjoining the good and forbidding evil are met, one must do so. Otherwise, one can be vague so as to avoid disputation of no benefit. The Obligation and Importance

The Secret of Prayer: Sujood

We have now arrived at the sujood (prostration). Ibn Al-Qayyim described the sujood as the secret of prayer, the greatest pillar, and the seal of the rukoo’. He said all the other actions we did before it were just preludes.

We should step back and reflect: what do we feel when we go into sujood? Some of us simply do it because it is a part of prayer; others because it is where we can makedu`a’ (supplication). But how many of us feel the humility of the soul, as we put our faces on the ground, in glorification of God?

True Happiness

Where do we find happiness? Not material happiness, but true internal happiness. As Muslims, we may respond that true happiness in this world comes from being closer to God. The closer you are to Allah, the more your heart is at rest. This is why the Prophet ﷺ  chose to be with Allah, saying “God has given a slave the choice between immortality in this world for as long as God wills, or meeting his Lord, and he has chosen to meet his Lord.” When Abu Bakr (radi Allahu `anhu – may Allah be pleased with him) heard this he wept, because he knew that the Prophet ﷺhad chosen being with Allah over this life.

Send blessings on the Prophet [pbuh] in abundance

the-mercy-600x593

Sourcealmadinainstitute.org

Indeed, Allah and His angels send prayers upon the Prophet. O you who believe! Send prayers and abundant salutations upon him. (Surah Ahzab, 33:56)

You should realize that prayer upon the Prophet ﷺ is a ladder and means of [spiritual] ascent to arrive unto Allah. That is because sending prayers upon him ﷺ frequently engenders the Prophet’s love, and the Prophet’s love engenders Allah’s love, and Allah’s love for the servant attracts the servant to the Divine Presence—with or without an intermediary.

How do we claim to hate Iblees yet continue to follow his ways? ‘ and pride were the reasons why shaytan was expelled from paradise. Do not let it be the reason for you not gaining an entrance.’

is a much-needed characteristic for all Muslims. Being modest is one of the most crucial traits of a person. We need to acknowledge our own defects and willingly submit to the commandments of Allah swt . The messenger of Allah, Mohammed SAW , was known for his incredible humility and grace. He used to be humble with his companions, at home and with everyone he met.

Sleeping is similar to death

A Kashmiri Muslim takes a nap at the lan

Sleeping is similar to death. That is why sleeping has been linked to death, and waking with life. When preparing to sleep we should fear that may be our eyes close and do not open again. This has happened many times ; hence we should ask Allah (The Exalted) for forgiveness of our sins as it is not good to do so without.
The pious would sleep little as the time spent in sleep is of no use. Only if we are successful and able to understand to reality of our life. For instance if someone has a life of 60 years and sleeps for 8 hours a day then we would have spend 20 years in sleep, that’s 1/3 of the life spent in sleeping. In these 20 years we did not achieve anything, however, if we spend our sleeping in the way of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) then Inshallah we will gain some benefit as this will become worship.
