Taking a nap, we’ve seen time and again, is like rebooting your brain. Everyone likes to get a quick nap in every now and then, but napping may be as much of an art as it is a science. The Wall Street Journal offers recommendations for planning your perfect nap, including how long to nap and when.

Praise be to Allaah.
It is human nature to be forgetful, as the Arab poet said:
“He is only called man (insaan) because of his forgetfulness (nasiyaan), and it is only called the heart (al-qalb) because it changes so rapidly (yataqallib).”

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah’s guidance)
Improving ones memory, one must:
1) Keeping away from sin, because the bad effects of sin result in a bad memory and the inability to retain knowledge. The darkness of sin cannot co-exist with the light of knowledge. The following words were attributed to al-Shaafa’i, may Allaah have mercy on him:
“I complained to [my Shaykh] Wakee’ about my bad memory, and he taught me that I should keep away from sin. He said that knowledge of Allaah is light, and the light of Allaah is not given to the sinner.”

Do you know that shaytan (satan) becomes extremely envious when a person is standing in prayer before his Lord? And thus he does everything he can to get the worshiper out of that elevated state- by distracting him or her to think about other things. And all too often, unfortunately, we accept the invitation. The likeness ofshaytan is to that of a fly – every time one pushes him away, he comes back.

* Our Holy prophet (SAW) has said: whoever recites the first 4 ayats of Surae Baqarah, then Ayatul Kursi and then the last 3 ayats of Surae Baqarah will not be inflicted with any kind of difficulty in his wealth or himself, Shaitaan will not come near him and he will not forget the Qur’an.
* Imam Ali (AS) was told by our Holy Prophet: Qur’an is a great word, and Surae Baqarah is the leader of the Qur’an and Ayatul Kursi is the leader of Surae Baqarah. In Ayatul Kursi there are 50 words and for each word there are 50 blessings and good in it.
Freshly Brewed Tea: Up to three cups of freshly brewed tea a day can provide the brain with a modest amount of caffeine that can enhance memory, focus and mood.
Blueberries: They can improve memory and motor skills. They may help reduce the effects of age-related conditions.
Pomegranate Juice: It has antioxidant benefits, which protects the brain from the damage of free radicals.
This video clip, from the Oasis HD Channel, shows some fascinating recent experiments with water “memory”from the Aerospace Institute of the University of Stuttgart in Germany. The results with the different types of flowers immersed in water are particularly evocative. More than 70 percent of our planet is covered in water. The human body is made of 60% of water; the brain, 70%; the lungs, nearly 90%.
