A brother came to me that night and asked, “Oh what happened? Is there some good news?” I replied, “Yes! It’s a Girl!” He looked at me and said, “Inshallah next time” as if it wasn’t good news because I didn’t have a boy.
I was so upset that I wanted to slap the brother across the face. That is what idol worshippers in Makkah would have said! That is what people who don’t believe in Allah would have said! The fact that I had my 3rd daughter, allows me to celebrate the words of the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wa sallam. What bigger congratulations could there be?!” – Brother Nouman Ali Khan

It is obligatory upon every believer to have firm conviction on what Allah has mentioned in the Qur’an. They must have belief that whatever is mentioned in the Qur’an is the truth and there is not a doubt on even one letter of the Qur’an. To have the slightest amount of doubt regarding the Qur’an will render a person out of the fold of Islam (may Allah preserve our faith, Ameen). It is incorrect to compare the Qur’an to historical and archeological research and judge Qur’an through their scope and understanding. Firstly, historical data has always been tampered with and has been influenced many a times by people’s emotions and understanding of history. Secondly, historians and archeologist reject anything for which they have not found any proof. Not being able to find any ‘proofs’ does not negate the whole incident and render the incident false. It merely means they weren’t able to discover any archeological proofs. Thirdly, the Word of Allah is superior than any science or history. Therefore, if even some historical information or scientific and archeological fact appears contradictory to the teachings of the Qur’an, then we will hold fast to the Qur’an and leave aside all others.

“[Of these stories mention] When Joseph said to his father, “O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me. He said, “O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest enemy.” [Surah Yusuf, 12: 4,5]
Ibn Katheer in his explanation of this ayah says, “….Ya`qub feared that if Yusuf narrated his vision to any of his brothers, they wouldenvy him and conspire evil plots against him.” [1]
Yes, brothers and sisters in Islam, the evil eye is true. The Prophet 
said:
“The evil eye is real, and if anything were to overtake the divine decree (al-qadar) it would be the evil eye.” [2]
This is a trait that Allah 
mentions in the Qur’an and our Prophet has warned us about:
‘The disease of previous nations has crawled its way to you: envy and hatred.’ [3]
What is Evil Eye?
The Arabic word al-‘ayn (translated as the evil eye) refers to when a person harms another with his eye. [4] Its counterpart is hasad(jealousy), which is the hoping in the removal of the blessing from the one who is envied.
Simply put, when one sees his brother blessed with what Allah has given him, he hopes that his blessing disappears from him for no reason except for his envy towards him.
