Distress, anxiety, joys, fear, worries and : different facets that make up this mesmerizing sojourn called “”. It might fascinate you with its unknown twists and turns. With the pressures of dunya that strangle us both physically and emotionally, our minds tend to lose focus and our cringe with disappointments and pain. Beyond all of this, our souls end up forgetting their very purpose of existence: To worship our Creator Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala .

Due to the way Muslim communities have been developed, the challenges they face are different from that of other faith communities.

Among the Christian community you find one of two types of models.

Model 1 – Corporate Franchise Clergy Structure

Model 2 – Local Visionary

The American Muslim community for the most part doesn’t follow any of these two models.

Typically you have a bunch of local folks that want to establish a place to pray. They come together, form a board, write out the policies, buy some real estate and make that a place to pray.

Then they realize they need to get an imam, and they end up hiring one of two types.

The arabic word for or grief is “Gham” – derived from the word “Ghaamama (the cloud) “. Although there’s no apparent relationship between and cloud, there is a hidden one.  Just like how a cloud blocks away sunshine from lighting up the earth,/grief also acts as a stumbling block, hindering man’s positive energy and performance.

Just like a cloud blocks all the sun-shine coming down to the earth, sadness or grief, one way or another, also acts as a stumbling block for a man’s positive energy and performance. 2

It is very natural that when a person is and everything is going according to his whims and desires and his own wishful thinking, his performance is at it’s peak, but when he is tested or a strikes him, he becomes pessimistic and isn’t able to give a good performance.

Documentary: World War One Through Arab Eyes – Episode 3: The New Middle East (Video)

Episode 1 | Episode 2

info-pictogram1 Episode three covers the secret Sykes-Picot agreement between Britain and France and the way the two imperial powers carved up the former Ottoman Empire between them, regardless of the rights and demands of rights and nationalist movements across the Arab world.

The war gave birth to the Turkish nationalist movement which led to the founding of the modern Turkish state; and to Zionism, aided greatly by the Balfour Declaration of 1917. The Treaty of Versaillles, however, was referred to by one German-Ottoman military leader not as a peace but as ‘a twenty year armistice’ – and so it proved …

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said,

“Allah will cover seven people with His shade, on the Day when there will be no shade but His: a just ruler, a youth who has grown up in the worship of Allah, a man whose heart is attached to the mosques, two persons who love each other only for Allah’s sake and they meet and part in Allah’s cause only, a man who refuses the call of a beautiful and influential woman for illicit relation with her and says: I am afraid of Allah, a man who gives charitable gifts so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given, and a person who remembers Allah while he is alone and his eyes are flooded with tears.” (Al-Bukhari)

Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal has urged Muslims to “defend” the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem after Israeli forces restricted the entrance for Palestinians. He accused Israel of trying to seize the site, which is considered holy for both Muslims and Jews.

“We call on all our people inside the country to hurry up to al-Aqsa to defend it,” Meshaal said in a statement from Doha, Qatar.

“We call on the nation to be angry and to send a message of painful anger to the world that the Palestinian people, the Arab and Muslim nation, will not be silent at the Israeli crime,” Meshaal added.
