The United Islamic Assembly organised a Quran recital at the Cekrekci Muslihudin Mosque and great interest was shown by the Sarajevo Muslim community.

The mosque muezzin Bilal Efendic said that each year a Quran recital night was organised for the last night of the year and that the youth came together at the mosque in celebration of this. Efendic said that during the event 30 youths who are hafiz – those who have committed the entire Quran to memory – read from the Quran until late night. Many hymns were also sung as part of the event.

Organised each year, the programme opened with a ceremony at the Bascarsi Mosque. Mevlud programmes, where hymns and poetry are recited in honour of the Prophet Muhammad, book launches and Islamic song concerts are also part of the programme, which will continue until the 23rd January.

12-Year Old Child Reveals One Of The Best Kept Secrets In The World (Video)

info-pictogram1 Most people in the world, young or old, have little idea that our world is so incredibly corrupt and coldly calculated to create an enslaved population. Luckily, this is changing with each passing day as a switch seems to be turning on in people that allows them to see and realize that something isn’t quite right here.

BROTHER ‘STEVEN NICHOLAS’ CONVERTED TO ISLAM!!

Allahu Akbar, this english brother ‘Steven Nicholas’ converted to Islam, please welcome him to the peace religion and do dua for him too. https://www.facebook.com/steven.nicholas.334

This afternoon it was the greatest moment of my life, I completed my declaration to our creator Allah and reverted to Islam after learning about the religion for a long time. I have never been so welcomed by a group of people in my life. I had over 100 brothers hug me and welcome me to the faith of Islam. To people who might have stereotypes of Islam, I can tell you the media have portrayed a lot of false propaganda against the religion. Muslims have been without doubt the most attacked religion in the last 10 having years having both physical abuse and verbal abuse inflicted upon them in huge quantities, with people being killed in their thousands if not millions in this time. I have studied Islam for a long time and this religion spreads nothing but peace and love to fellow humans. To the governments who continue to attack Islam with their false propaganda it is because many Muslims refuse to take part in many corrupt practices that is spread across the western world, in which certain corrupted individuals profit from, including the interest of money that is forbidden in Islam. Islam is a religion of peace and love and i pray more people will realise this one day. Regardless of other people’s personal beliefs, may the blessings of God be upon you all.

Following the Money: Who’s in Control?

Human beings are beginning to question the environment around them more so than ever before. Our capability to step outside of the box and observe events taking place on planet Earth from a neutral standpoint continues to increase at an exponential rate. Observing the entire Earth experience from an open mind has cleared the way for a change in perception, which has the potential to change our planet and the way we operate on it forever. Political, media, food, education, health, energy and financial industries are now under intense scrutiny as people continue to let go of fear, speak up and ask more questions. Can we really separate these industries if they are all operated by the same people? How can we separate the medical, food and pharmaceutical industries when they are all funded and headed by the same families and multinational organizations?  How can we disregard comments and research conducted from insiders that have turned to the side of truth? If cancer cures, clean energy technologies, and other information is being suppressed, who are the ones doing the suppressing and why?

Some signs of depression

Depression-shutterstock_139494050

By: Mohammed Zeyara

If you have a family member or a friend who suffers from depression, you would acknowledge how serious depression is. The death of Robin Williams is no joke. It is a reminder to all of us to befriend people who are suffering from depression and not neglect them. Almost 20% of people who face depression commit suicide, that is a huge percentage. Always be careful and keep your eyes open towards your friends and family. If you notice a friend with a chronic severe depression, make sure to convince them to see a doctor.

Here are some signs of depression via WebMd:

Difficulty concentrating, remembering details, and making decisions.
Fatigue and decreased energy.
Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and/or helplessness.
Feelings of hopelessness and/or pessimism.
Insomnia, early-morning wakefulness, or excessive sleeping.
Irritability, restlessness.
Loss of interest in activities or hobbies once pleasurable, including sex.
Overeating or appetite loss.
Persistent aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems that do not ease even with treatment.
Persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” feelings.
Thoughts of suicide, suicide attempts.

Consume, Consume, Consume With The False Promise Of Happiness!

Source: http://themindunleashed.org/2014/07/consume-consume-consume-false-promise-happiness.html

Victor Lebow an economist, retail analyst and author, wrote a very pertinent account of modern consumerism in his 1955 paper, “Price Competition in 1955,” which was published in the Spring issue of the “Journal of Retailing.”

“Our enormously productive economy demands that we make consumption our way of life, that we convert the buying and use of goods into rituals, that we seek our spiritual satisfactions, our ego satisfactions, in consumption. The measure of social status, of social acceptance, of prestige, is now to be found in our consumptive patterns. The very meaning and significance of our lives today expressed in consumptive terms. The greater the pressures upon the individual to conform to safe and accepted social standards, the more does he tend to express his aspirations and his individuality in terms of what he wears, drives, eats, his home, his car, his pattern of food serving, his hobbies.

These commodities and services must be offered to the consumer with a special urgency. We require not only “forced draft” consumption, but “expensive” consumption as well. We need things consumed, burned up, worn out, replaced and discarded at an ever increasing pace. We need to have people eat, drink, dress, ride, live, with ever more complicated and, therefore, constantly more expensive consumption. The home power tools and the whole “do-it-yourself” movement are excellent examples of “expensive” consumption.”

CONSUMERISM IS NOT SUSTAINABLE

We have let ourselves to be led down the path of consumption, we have been manipulated into a society of ‘battery hen humans’ where governments, marketers, corporations and interest groups have been feeding us a steady diet of consumerism, laced with deceit, false hopes and non-sustainability.

It all started after the Second World War when economies and much of the Western population were in a state of stability and there were abundant energy resources in the form of coal and oil. What better way to control the masses to promote growth and prosperity than to condition consumers, voters and citizens to consume, consume, consume, everything else is irrelevant.

People talk about ‘the economy’ as if it were a living being. Interest groups such as the financial services sector, government, corporations and politicians discuss confidence, growth, investment, demand, spending, stimulus and consumption as a means to satisfying and appeasing the manic depressive economy. Slowly we are starting to see fragments of change. We have let ourselves become attached to something that offers little real evidence of being able to truly make us happy in the long term. In Buddhism, attachment is one of the key hindrances that causes suffering among humans. The Buddha taught that attachment generates craving, wanting and insecurity. Attachment is the wanting to hold onto and keep a permanent state and not be separated from a thing or person. The general principle behind non-attachment is to cultivate a mind of detachment. Once we do this we can then move towards a mind of oneness which involves compassion, an understanding of impermanence and seeing experiences for what they are.

Why Does Islam Forbid Interest? (Video)

info-pictogram1 So you think it’s okay to have loads of cash in the bank and live off the accrued interest? Well it’s not, it’s a major sin. The ethical precedent of justice and fairness set by Islam was shown in a recent Gallup Poll Survey that found Muslims as being the most generous in giving donations to charitable causes in the U.K. [not surprisingly, Atheists were bottom of the list!] In his Last Sermon, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphatically destroyed the tyranny of Interest till the End Times by saying, “Allah has forbidden you to take Usury (Riba), therefore all Riba obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your (lawfully earned) Capital, however, is yours to keep. From now on, you must neither inflict nor suffer inequity (in all aspects).” Capitalism is in its death throes. But what will happen after the next Credit Crunch Tsunami hits? Eventually tyranny must be replaced by justice. Muslims await the second coming of Jesus (peace be upon him), who will be heralded before his arrival by a character known as Imam Mahdi [following in the footsteps of John the Baptist, who heralded Jesus more than 2000 years ago] who will make sure the weak and downtrodden are looked after. The Mahdi will give out so much wealth to the poor that they will be unable to carry it away. The only question is… when? Allah Knows best. Just be on the right side. The least you can do is acknowledge the just ethics of Islam, even if you detest the Religion. May God Guide us all.
