“Actions are to be judged only by intentions and a man will have only what he intended” 1
Having great intentions was the way through which the Sahaba (may Allah be pleased with them), the sincere worshipers of Allah () and the scholars sought reward from Allah (
) They used to have multiple intentions for one action in order to acquire a great reward for every action. Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said,

It seems every week there is a new internet conflict. Over the last few days, people criticized me for posting my Hajj selfies. What is your opinion about this?
Answer:
That is a sad question, and I find it strange that people have the time to look at other people’s pictures and criticize them. With that being said, I will address this issue from four perspectives:
- Are pictures forbidden?
- Principles for understanding texts.
- The importance of collective good.
- Intentions should be left to Allah alone.

I help with chores to do my part around the house.
I eat because I am hungry.
I take a nap because I am bored.
I study because I need good grades.
But what if you could make all of those actions a source of reward insha’Allah?
