Russia: Israel is training ISIS terrorists

A top aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday accused Israel and the United States of training the Islamic State in order to undermine Moscow’s interests in the Middle East.
In an interview with Iranian state television,Alexander Prokhanov said that Mossad agents were training ISIS fighters in Syria and Iraq.
“ISIS is a tool at the hands of the United States. They tell the Europeans that if we (the Americans) do not intervene, ISIS will cause you harm,” he told PRESS TV.
“They launched their first terror attack against us just a few days back in Chechnya,” he said.

On September 12, 2014, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, a prominent American Muslim scholar, gave a Friday sermon on ISIS. People are clearly interested in what Shaykh Hamza has to say regarding ISIS; the sermon has been viewed on YouTube more than 190,000 times, with more than 1,100 positive and negative comments, in the past month.
Shaykh Hamza made several interesting points in his sermon. (My follow-up questions appear in italics. Please forgive the tough questions. I don’t mean any disrespect to Shaykh Hamza. I realize that he didn’t have time to address all these issues in one sermon. But such questions have to be answered by our scholars so that laypeople like me can understand what is going on in the world around us.)

The First Battle of Gaza was fought on 26 March 1917 during the first attempt by the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF) to invade the south of Palestine in the Ottoman Empire during the Sinai and Palestine Campaign of the First World War. Fighting took place in and around the town of Gaza on the Mediterranean coast when infantry and mounted infantry from the Desert Column, a component of theEastern Force, attacked the town. Late in the afternoon, on the verge of capturing Gaza, the Desert Column was withdrawn due to concerns about the approaching darkness and large Ottoman reinforcements. This British defeat was followed a few weeks later by the even more emphatic defeat of the Eastern Force at the Second Battle of Gaza in April 1917.

Why we collectively condemn ISIS

The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) cared for the innocent men, women, and children that belonged to the “other side” even as he suffered from injustice himself and the loss of his family and closest companions. Despite losing Khadijah (ra), Hamza (ra), etc. he never became bitter or unethical. Protecting civilians from all sides is also part of Jihad. The oppression of Bashar and Al-Maliki doesn’t justify the taking of a single innocent life be it a Muslim, Christian, Yazidi, etc. So I openly condemn #ISIS and speak out against them for the havoc they are wreaking upon the people of Iraq and Syria.
I’ve read all the conspiracy theories about where they come from and it is definitely strange how they appeared out of nowhere and starting attacking other groups fighting the Assad regime and are suddenly the richest terrorist organization in the world. It’s also perplexing how the American government helped fund them in Syria but is now bombing them in Iraq. None of it makes much sense at all. But any sane Muslim with a basic understanding of Islam should be disgusted by the taking of innocent life by this group just as we are disgusted by Israel’s massacre of innocent Palestinians, America’s droning of innocent people around the world, etc. Be just even if it be against your families and against yourselves.
And to the #ISIS fanboys that keep tweeting curses, insults, and pictures of beheadings to me (whose names always seem to end with Al Amreeki for some reason), your rhetoric further reinforces to me and everyone else that this group is the manifestation of the khawarij in this era. May Allah guide all of you back to the Sunnah. Ameen
