To all those drowning in their attempt to please people

Pleasing Allah is NOT dependent on pleasing people. Say this a million times, until you absorb it! We *can’t* please people. We can only do our part, as best we can, for the sake of Allah. The result comes from Allah. Not from us. If we are not successful at pleasing people, it does NOT mean we’ve failed! You have not failed. You are not a failure. You need to start to accept and value who you are. You need to value yourself. And stop trying to mold yourself into what you are not, in order to please those around you. Your goal is to please Allah and Allah did not ask you to become something you’re not. Nor did Allah expect you to please people. That’s not your job. Your job is to please Him.

“I’m not ready to die yet!!”

I came accross this car the other day which had crashed into another car while trying to turn into a road. How many times whilst driving do we do silly things? How many times do we think: “Oh that’s an empty road, let me just speed up a little bit”. The same way when we’re speeding on an empty road a car might come out from a corner by surprise, the exact same way death is waiting for us around the corner.

After many years of studying religion and coming to the conclusion that Islam was the only religion that made sense to my nature and who I wanted to be in the eyes of God, I converted to Islam. My life has changed drastically. And even though I took about three years to negotiate this decision and think about all the things in my life that I would leave behind and all the things I would incorporate, I had no idea how different my life would be. I had no idea… I have compiled a list of (some) things that I never expected.

Do not expect defeat nor think of victory, you must concentrate on every step, giving your best in each & every moment.

 Ne pas attendre la défaite, ni penser à la victoire, vous devez vous concentrer sur chaque étape, donner votre meilleur dans chaque & chaque instant.
 Erwarten Sie nicht, die Niederlage noch denken, des Sieges, müssen Sie auf jeden Schritt konzentrieren, was Sie am besten in jedem & jeder Zeit.
