Al-Ihsan foundation: Syrian Refugee Appeal

Syria-Crisis-Appeal-Jan-2016_webflyer

The ongoing conflict in Syria has caused one of the largest humanitarian crises in the last few centuries. The millions of civilians who have fled their home to find safety will struggle to stay warm this winter. Many of the refugees are living in shelters and poorly constructed tents without adequate clothing or protection from the cold, leaving them at risk of hypothermia, pneumonia and other deadly diseases. Your donation will go towards providing the necessary provisions to civilians living in refugee camps. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.

$75 will go towards:

  • Blankets
  • Winter Clothes
  • Heater
  • Cooking Stove
  • Shelter
  • etc.

$50 will go towards:

  • Food Essentials
  • Baby Food
  • Hygiene Kit
  • etc.

Virgin Money Giving is supporting Human Aid by sending 10 Medical Delegates to assist the Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza (where Dr Mads Gilbert worked) with emergency medical equipment.

Imagine all the thousands of people who were injured severely and still awaiting medical attention, plus injuries dont just go away. Our brothers need us more than ever now as winter approaches.

May Allah bless you!

Food Distribution in Brazilian Favela (Video)

info-pictogram1 877-Why-Islam presents the glimpses of food distribution in the slums of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Food packages were sponsored by Helping Hand (www.hhrd.org). It was amazing how receptive the people were. They said that they want to know more and where should they go to learn more about Islam. They took us to an area where we were able to see the reality of the Favela (slum). It was an area where we ascended some deep steps and at the top they had a very delicate wood platform and behind it was an area where all of their waste (fecal matter, garbage, rats, etc.) are found.

Only a few days ago, I read a Facebook post by our friends at Islamic Relief Palestine that reminded me how easy it really is to forget how fortunate we are.

With some of us having so much to do in what seems like so little time, we sometimes find it difficult to take a moment to appreciate the things in our lives that we’re most thankful for like the people that make you smile, our homes, the food on our table, living in a country where we can execute our right to an education, our jobs and of course the generous supporters that make our life changing work possible.
