Neck Pain and Dizziness: Diagnosing the Problem

Source: udemy.com

Dizziness and neck pain are common medical conditions that we often assume will go away with self-medication or a massage. Although you may be hopeful that you can self-diagnose using the vast array of medical information available on internet, not even the best article’s a substitute for a doctor. Make sure you see a healthcare specialist regardless, and especially if symptoms are persistent or severe.

Waiting For The Bombs To Fall: Life In Gaza During War (Video)

info-pictogram1 On July 8th 2014 Israel launched a 7-week military assault on the Gaza Strip. We follow these three twenty-somethings as they cope with the chaos and uncertainty caused by the bombardment. And we watch as they each try to help Gaza in very different ways.

Doctor’s Orders: For Better Health, Put Your Hands in the Dirt

Eat more fruits and vegetables,” says every doctor everywhere—the kind of vague advice easily forgotten when passing apples on the way to the end-of-season ice cream sandwiches on sale at the store. So a clinic in Virginia has decided to get specific. Health care providers tear a page from a prescription pad, then walk with their patients out the back door and into what they say is the best kind of produce aisle and pharmacy: the garden row.

I will never forget that day. I sat in Birmingham Children’s Hospital, hands wrapped around my tummy, forcing fake tears, waiting for the doctor to return.

I was seventeen years old, twenty-one weeks pregnant, and I had just been advised to abort my baby.

Ebola virus: Top Sierra Leone doctor, Sheik Umar Khan, dies of disease

info-pictogram1 The top doctor treating patients infected with the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone has died from the disease, officials have confirmed. Dr Sheik Umar Khan had been hospitalised in quarantine since he contracted the virus last week. The virologist was credited with treating more than 100 patients at the hospital in Kenema – one of the world’s leading Ebola diagnosis facilities.

“It is a big and irreparable loss to Sierra Leone as he was the only specialist the country had in viral haemorrhagic fevers,” Kargbo said on Tuesday.

The current outbreak is the largest in history, so far killing more than 672 people across West Africa since the outbreak began in February, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO). Nations affected include Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and Nigeria.

Dr Khan’s death on Tuesday afternoon was confirmed by chief medical officer Dr Brima Kargbo, who had previously hailed him as a “national hero” when she announced he had contracted the the disease.

Miracle Gaza Baby (Video)

Source: http://www.nanima.co.za/

I can’t still understand this GazaUnderAttack. Why are ordinary civilians being killed in the name of self defense.  This babie’s mum was pregnant when she was killed. When the mum arrived at the hospital, they felt something moving and this baby was born in an emergency caesar.

When the doctors gently pulled the tiny newborn from her mother’s womb in an emergency Caesarian section, the woman had already been dead for an hour.

Twenty-three-year-old Shayma al-Sheikh Qanan was eight months pregnant when an Israeli tank shell hit her home in the central Gaza Strip town of Deir al-Balah, reducing it to rubble. She was left in critical condition and her husband, a local radio journalist, was also badly wounded.

“Her body was brought in after an Israeli shelling at 3:00 am on Friday,” said Doctor Fadi al-Kharti, who was at Deir al-Balah hospital when she was rushed in. “We tried to revive her but she had died on the way to hospital.”

Before paramedics managed to dig her out, she had been stuck under the rubble of her home for an hour. “Then we noticed movement in her stomach, and estimated she was about 36 weeks pregnant,” he says. Doctors performed an immediate Caesarian section and saved the baby, who was named after her late mother.

Israel Drops Cancer-inducing Bombs on Gazans

A Norwegian doctor working in Gaza has strongly criticized Israel for using cancer-inducing bombs against Palestinian civilians.

According to Al Ray Palestinian Media Agency, Dr. Erik Fosse recently stated to Press TV that the majority of patients hospitalized in Gaza are civilians injured in attacks on their homes, and that about thirty percent of these victims are children.

Dense Inert Metal Explosive, known as DIME, is an explosive device developed to minimize damage to things that are incidental to the intended target, known as “collateral damage”.

The bombs reportedly effect a relatively small but rather significantly damaging blast radius, and are believed by medical experts to have severe biological effects on those hit with the bomb’s micro-shrapnel.

DIME munitions were developed by the US Air Force, in 2006, and have since been tested repeatedly on the people of Gaza, who, according to the Electronic Intifada, have long served as involuntary lab rats for Israel’s weapons industry.

DIME bombs contain tungsten, a cancer-causing metal which helps to produce blasts which slice through flesh and bone, often completely destroying the lower limbs of people within the blast radius.

The doctor also says that some Palestinians in the besieged enclave have been wounded by a new type of weapon which even doctors with previous experience in war zones do not recognize.

Israel has used banned weapons in the past, including depleted-uranium and white phosphorus, which is nearly impossible to extiguish and leaves its victim hideously burned and scarred, should he or she even survive such an attack.

The ground assault continues in Gaza, today, with nearly 300 reported deaths and over 2,000 wounded in Gaza, to include elderly, disabled and children not even a year old — all victims of targets which include mostly civilian homes, hospitals and municipal facilities.
