Eat. Sleep. Work. Is there more to life than this? We human beings have been thrown into existence without any choice, so questions such as Where did I come from? What am I doing here? and Where am I going after I die? keep popping up in our minds. We forget these basic questions in our daily routines, but ignoring them will not make them go away.

The Prophet of Allaah (salAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“When a deceased person is laid in his grave, he hears the sound of the footsteps of people as they go away. If he is a believer, the prayer will stand by his head, the fasting will be to his right, alms to his left, and all other good deeds of charity, kindness to relations, and good behavior will be by his feet.”
Then two fearsome, dread-inspiring angels, called Munkar and Nakeer, visit the soul to ask it about its religion, God, and Prophet. The believing soul sits upright in its grave as Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) grants it the strength to answer the angels with full faith and certainty.
A great quote to reflect on. Many people ask themselves, “why me, and what is this life, that I was given, all about”? But the purpose is that the life of any human being on this earth is a test. And when we die, we will get the result of the test that we have completed. Remember; “During exams, the teacher is always silent”. So be careful with your life choices, otherwise you won’t get your diploma! I want to end this short article with the point that “Life is good, at any given time. This life isn’t a punishment.” #peace

Imagine yourself at the moment of your death.
What thoughts cross your mind? Memories of family and friends? Panic? Regrets? Remembrance of Allah? What is death? What happens to us after we die? What is life in the Hereafter like, this new and strange world after death? Do we lose consciousness of this life? Where does our soul go? Do we feel and think the same?
