Lightning strike kills 11 members of Colombian tribe

At least 11 members of a tribe in Sierra Nevada killed when lightning struck a thatch-roofed hut they were meeting in.

Authorities say 11 members of a remote indigenous tribe along Colombia’s Caribbean coast were killed when a lightning bolt struck a thatch-roofed hut where they were gathered.

Military officials said on Monday that another 15 members of the Wiwa tribe that live high in the coastal Sierra Nevada range were injured with burns, six of them seriously.

Condolences to the Sotloff and Raies Families and Thoughts on ISIS

I denounce the brutal murder of Steven Sotloff and the Syrian Muslim journalist Bassam Raies. As a father of a beautiful son,  I send both families my sincerest condolences and my heat is pained at their loss. There is no dilemma in denouncing ISIS. They are, as the Prophet (sa) said, “The worst of creation” and “The dogs of Hell.” As a journalist, he is protected by international law and covenants that are binding on those God has given authority. His mother’s passionate please showed that she understands Islam better than ISIS and its leadership and many rabid folks who cloak their sicknesses with the garments of religiosity.
