Qur’an is Book of Peace: Pope
Source: onislam.net
CAIRO – Concluding his three-day visit to Turkey, Pope Francis has confirmed that Islam is a religion of peace, rejecting rants targeting Muslims over acts committed by a minority group.
“The Qur’an is a book of peace. It is a prophetic book of peace,” Pope Francis said, The Washington Post reported on Monday, December 1.
During his visit to Turkey, the Argentine Pope met President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and the head of Turkey’s religious affairs directorate, Mehmet Gormez.
He also visited the Blue Mosque after a short tour of Aya Sofya, during which he offered prayers alongside the Turkish Mufti of Istanbul.
The Pope asserted that was wrong for anyone to react to terrorism by being “enraged” against Islam.
“You just can’t say that, just as you can’t say all Christians are fundamentalists,” he said.
Usury

Narrated Abu Juhaifa: The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade the use of the price of blood and the price of a dog, the one who takes (eats) usury the one who gives usury, the woman who practices tattooing and the woman who gets herself tattooed.
Sahih Al-Bukhari – Book 72 Hadith 829
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Avoid the seven great destructive sins.” They (the people) asked, “O Allah’s Apostle! What are they?” He said, “To join partners in worship with Allah; to practice sorcery; to kill the life which Allah has forbidden except for a just cause (according to Islamic law); to eat up usury (Riba), to eat up the property of an orphan; to give one’s back to the enemy and fleeing from the battlefield at the time of fighting and to accuse chaste women who never even think of anything touching chastity and are good believers.”
Sahih Al-Bukhari – Book 82 Hadith 840
Narrated Abu Burda: When I came to Medina, I met Abdullah bin Salam. He said, “Will you come to me so that I may serve you with Sawiq (i.e. powdered barley) and dates, and let you enter a (blessed) house that in which The Prophet (peace be upon him) entered?” Then he added, “You are in a country where the practice of Riba (i.e. usury) is prevalent; so if somebody owes you something and he sends you a present of a load of chopped straw or a load of barley or a load of provender then do not take it, as it is Riba.”
Sahih Al-Bukhari – Book 58 Hadith 159
Gossip is a sin
By: Mufti Ismail Menk
Allah says,”oh you who believe, be conscious of your maker and each one of you should look into what you have prepared for tomorrow“, what have you prepared in your books? What have you prepared in your deeds? What have you prepared in your accounts? To present to your Maker. When you are going to meet Him tomorrow.
What a powerful verse, Allah is telling us look at your book. What we do today? Shaytan makes us look at the books of others. Immediately were worried about that one, this one. You see, that one did this and this person committed that sin, and that one is rotten in the heart. And we start passing judgement. You know the hearts of the people. May Allah subhanahu wa taala safeguard us and protect us from this.
That is shaytan diverting us from this path of steadfastness. Steadfastness can not be achieved when you are engaged in the life of someone else. Cheating, deceiving. Backbiting, slandering, gossiping and so on. Allahu akbar
