info-pictogram1 Snowflake (c. 1964 – November 24, 2003) was an albino gorilla. He was the only known albino gorilla so far, and the most popular resident of the Barcelona Zoo in Catalonia, Spain. He weighs 400 lbs. In 2011, Snowflake was featured on the Guinness World Records 2012 as a new record entry named “Rarest Gorilla”. The book also mentions that unlike other animals that suffer from albinism, Snowflake has blue eyes suggesting that he was a chinchilla albino, caused by the recessive gene mutant gene also found on white tigers.
