DAYS OF DHUL HIJJAH
What better days to do good actions than the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, which Allāh has favoured over other days. It has been authentically reported that The Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allāh be upon him) said, “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allāh than these ten days.” They said,” Not even Jihad for the sake of Allāh?” He (Peace and Blessings of Allāh be upon him) said, “Not even jihad for the sake of Allāh, unless a man goes out himself for Jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.” (Sahih Bukhari)
The Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allāh be upon him) has reminded us that the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah are the most blessed & holiest days of the year. There are no other days that are as great as these in the sight of Allāh, the Most Sublime. Nor are there any deeds more beloved to Allāh then those that are done in these ten days. So lets increase doing good deeds Fisabilillah.
What good deeds can you do?
– Fasting and Qiyam (night prayer).
– Dhikr of Allāh
Ibn Umar (May Allāh be pleased with him) narrates that The Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “There are no days during which good deeds are greater are beloved to Allāh than these ten days. So recite more often the tahleel, takbeer and tahmeed.”[Reported by Imam Ahmed]
Recite in abundance the following words:
– Allāhu Akbar Allāhu Akbar La Ilaaha Ill-Allāh, Allāhu Akbar, Wa Lillaah il-Hamd (Allāh is Most Great, Allāh is Most Great there is no God but Allāh, Allāh is Most Great and To Allāh be Praise.)
– Allāhu akbar
– La Ilaha Illallāh
Allāh has opened every door of goodness to us in these ten days, so be weary not to turn your back on the Mercy of Allāh, lest that door is not opened for you again. Increase in acts of goodness in these first ten days and in the whole month of Dhu’l Hijjah as it is one of the four sacred months. May Allāh give us the ability to make good use of this month. Aameen.
