“I’m not ready to die yet!!”

I came accross this car the other day which had crashed into another car while trying to turn into a road. How many times whilst driving do we do silly things? How many times do we think: “Oh that’s an empty road, let me just speed up a little bit”. The same way when we’re speeding on an empty road a car might come out from a corner by surprise, the exact same way death is waiting for us around the corner.  Death may come to us when we least expect it. It may come to us when we may be doing good by benefitting the Ummah and we may start to think that we belong in this world because of the good we do. It may even come to us when we’re transgressing the laws of Allah, the same way we may crash into a car that comes out by surprise when breaking the laws of the road.

Death is more likely to come to you when you are transgressing the laws of Allah, the same way you are more likely to die from a crash when breaking the rules of safety.
The laws of Allah is like the safety limit. If you go above it, even the angel of death starts to ask Allah for permission to take your soul. The same way at every prayer time the angel of death seeks permission to take your soul, but out of Allah’s mercy he keeps you alive.

So please ponder on your actions and remember death frequently as death is the biggest reality of every living being, prepare for it with the good deeds you take to your grave.

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِالشَّرّ‌ِ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً وإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ

Every soul must taste of death and We try you by evil and good by way of probation; and to Us you shall be brought back. (Quran 21:35)
