Is the Human body perfectly designed? Why am I ugly?
By: Oyon Ajmain
How many times when we go swimming whilst we’re trying to get into the water we stop ourselves because it’s too cold, then think to ourselves, “I wish I could turn my nervous sensors off just so I can get into the water”. How many times do we get cut, then treat the wound and think to ourselves, “I treated the wound, why am I still feeling the pain? Surely our body should know that the wounds been treated and stop the pain?”
As human beings we may think that if we had an on/off switch for pain and hot/cold receptors then life would be better. We just turn off our sensors when we need to so that we don’t have to go through pain which is inevitable.
The word Insaan, which means human beings takes its root from the word nisyaan which means forgetfullness. Human beings are forgetful creatures. If we had the ability to turn off our sensors to go through pain which cannot be avoided then we may forget to turn our sensors on again when it is needed. The same way we often forget to lock the doors to our cars and turn the lights off before we leave our house.
Allah created our bodies in the best of manners with the most wisdom and he knows best for us. Many times we may think we can make our body better if we were creating it, but the fact is we can’t. There is a great wisdom as to why we were made the way we were. That goes for all of us, whether your short, tall, brown haired, black haired or even if you think you are ugly, know that Allah created you this way for a reason and he has more wisdom than us. So just be happy with who you are, be grateful and proud to be you, you are unique .
